Who this is for

You run your business on QuickBooks Desktop — usually Enterprise — and you’re keeping QuickBooks Desktop. You’re owner-led, somewhere between $2M and $50M a year. And you want answers about your business at the speed you think of the questions — at your desk, on your phone, in the middle of a meeting.

Who it isn’t for: anyone who wants their books done differently. We don’t touch the accounting — your bookkeeper stays your bookkeeper.

Nothing we do can write to your QuickBooks. It isn’t restricted from writing; it’s incapable of it. The connection is read-only by architecture.

Built for ourselves first.

Straight Figures began inside a family manufacturing business our founder helps run. Its QuickBooks Desktop numbers land in a database every week; the standing reports arrive without anyone asking; the people who run it ask questions in plain English and get answers from the live numbers. It has run that way, every week, for about a year — and every load is checked against QuickBooks before it publishes, so the answers match the books.

How it starts

The first step is small on purpose.

  1. We model one year of your sales data and get on a live call where you ask and your own numbers answer.
  2. You give us the three questions you most want answered. We get you those answers, or figure out how we can deliver them.
  3. You keep the database — a year of your sales, structured and connected to your Claude or ChatGPT. Take your time with it; what you learn is yours.
The first step $950

Credited in full toward your setup if you go ahead. And if you don’t? We delete the project — your data doesn’t stay with us.

Every refresh is checked against your QuickBooks before it publishes — if the totals don’t agree, it doesn’t go out. If we ever publish a number that doesn’t match your books as of the last refresh, fixing it is free.

We take on four companies at a time. Each build gets the founder’s direct attention, and we don’t start the next one until yours is running. When all four slots are full, new applications go on the list for the next opening.

Apply below. A short application, about two minutes. If it looks like a fit, we book a 15-minute call — no pitch deck. You bring the hardest question about your business you can’t answer today, and we tell you honestly whether we can answer it.

Ask it the way you’d say it out loud.

Every question in the first list is one a real business asked publicly — on Intuit’s own forums, on Reddit — and was told QuickBooks can’t do it.

And then there are the questions that were never going to be a report, because they’re computations:

If it’s in your QuickBooks, it’s a question you can ask.
